Nova Scotia Organics sources over 100 different ingredients from countries all over the world: As far away as Peru, Switzerland, Sri Lanka, German, India, Chile and Brazil, and as close to home as the United States and the company’s own Canadian backyard.
The company has built long-standing relationships –over decades, in some cases—with the best organic growers worldwide, ensuring Nova Scotia Organics is among the first in line to receive the finest crops.
When ingredients arrive at the farm, they’re logged in and set aside in quarantine. Every shipment is tested by our suppliers and by us before being released for use.
What Makes Nova Scotia Organics Different?
Organic products must contain at least 95% organic ingredients. The Nova Scotia Organics line is completely organic approved. We have found organic ingredients and developed processes that allow us to use organic ingredients as processing aids. It takes a little more time and it costs a little more, but it is the right thing to do for the quality of our products. We believe that our consumers deserve nothing less! Our vitamins and minerals come largely from organic food sources.
Vitamin D3
Vitamin D3 plays an important role in the central nervous system; it’s involved in the metabolism of neurotransmitters such as acetylcholine (development of memory), dopamine (pleasure hormone) and serotonin (happy hormone). Vitamin D also helps maintain normal blood levels of calcium for healthy bones and teeth, and phosphorus. If you’re female and over 40, the role Vitamin D—or lack of Vitamin D—can play in depression, seasonal affective disorder and premenstrual syndrome.
